Starting from EP 52 Brant Lake
The Brant to Saganaga Traverse is a rewarding point-to-point journey through the rugged eastern Boundary Waters. Beginning at Entry Point 52 (Brant Lake), the route winds through a chain of scenic lakes connected by forested portages before reaching the expansive waters of Saganaga Lake at Entry Point 55.
The journey includes several beautiful inland lakes, highlighted by Tuscarora Lake, one of the larger and more remote lakes in this part of the wilderness. After leaving Tuscarora, the route continues through Missing Link, Round, and Seagull Lakes, gradually transitioning from quiet interior waters to the broad, island-filled expanse of Saganaga Lake.
This route combines peaceful paddling, varied scenery, and several challenging portages, making it an excellent choice for paddlers looking for a classic eastern Boundary Waters adventure.
